Grassroots Basketball
The Baseline Phoenix Basketball Club is our community basketball programme. Through the club, youth from the local community come together for weekly development skill sessions, weekend competitions against other community clubs, and holiday programmes just to name a few.. The club space is space for where kids can learn, develop, and most importantly, HAVE FUN.

Our development skill session members work on their dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. We also help better their overall understanding of the game. Youths of all ages and ability levels are welcomed. Our session members are placed in levels that will continue to challenge them to reach their full potential. But most importantly, our club session members learn how to have FUN.

What is the minimum age requirement to register for your programmes?Seven years old.

What do I need to bring to my skill sessions?You will need to bring proper training attire, mouth guard, bottled water, and proper indoor court shoes.

Am I able to bring my child for a trial at one of your skill session before registering?Absolutely. You're entitled for one (1) trial session, if you've never been with us, before deciding to register with the club.

Am I able to pay off my child's term fees in installments in lieu of one lump payment when registering for your programmes?Yes, of course. We understand everyones financial cirumstances are different. Please get in touch with so we can work out a solution that works for everyone.

How many terms do you have throughout the year? How long is each term?We offer four (4) terms throughout the year, each coinciding with the school term. On average, depending on the length of the school term, training can be between 8-10 weeks per term.

How are your sessions divided?Our training sessions are initially divided based on age in accordance with BBNZ's (Basketball New Zealand) age definitions for the current year of 2021. Those groups are then sub-divided into smaller groups based on skill and ability level. U10 - Born 2015 & 2016 U12 - Born 2013 & 2014 U14 - Born 2011 & 2012 U16 - Born 2009 & 2010 U18 - Born 2007 & 2008

My child has never played basketball before. Are your programmes suitable for my child?Baseline Basketball offers programmes for youths of all ages and abilities. With the assistance of our network of volunteer club coaches, each child will be placed in a training group that best suits them.
